Getting started

Core ideas

The handful of ideas behind Reigh — workspaces, projects, people, the org, tasks, decisions and memory.

You’re the CEO

Reigh is built around one person at the top: you. Agents work for you, report through managers, and bring you only what they can’t decide themselves. You never have to be in the loop for routine work, and you can always step in.

Workspaces and projects

A workspace is a team: its people, departments, look and memory. You might have one for your company and another for a side project. The launcher (⌘⇧W) lists them all.

A project is a folder on your Mac with its own board, docs, memory and chats. The team is shared across a workspace’s projects, so the same engineer can work on your app and your website. Switch projects with the dots at the bottom of the sidebar, a two-finger swipe, or ⌘1–⌘9.

People

Every employee is a Claude Code agent with:

  • a role and brief (their persona and what they own),
  • a manager and possibly direct reports,
  • a department,
  • a brain: model, effort level and optional fast mode,
  • an autonomy level that decides what they may do without asking,
  • their own memory, folder and conversations.

The Chief of Staff is hired with every workspace. They turn your requests into tasks, keep the board accurate, write you a daily brief, and propose new hires as the work grows.

The org

Structure is what keeps a team of agents from turning into noise:

  • Managers can delegate only to their direct reports.
  • Every handoff carries a contract with four parts: OBJECTIVE, OUTPUT, TOOLS, BOUNDARIES.
  • Finished work goes back to whoever delegated it for review before it’s done.
  • People can message their manager, their reports, their peers and their department. Anything further goes through a manager.
  • A hop limit stops two agents from replying to each other forever.

Tasks

Work lives on the Board as tasks with a status, assignee, priority, dependencies, subtasks, labels and an activity log. A task that touches a repository is a coding task: it gets its own git worktree and branch, and can end in a pull request.

Decisions

Anything that needs you becomes an Inbox item: permissions, approvals, questions, plans, reports and hire requests. Agents keep working on other things while they wait, and pick up where they left off once you decide.

Memory

Agents remember durable facts, decisions, preferences, lessons and procedures at four levels: personal, project, department and workspace. Memory is stored in Reigh’s database and mirrored to Markdown files (MEMORY.md, PROJECT.md, DEPARTMENT.md, COMPANY.md) that sync both ways.

Runs and wakes

Agents don’t poll. When something arrives for someone — a message, a task, an answer from you, a routine — Reigh wakes them with a short summary of what’s new, and the run lasts until Claude goes idle. Read more in How it works.
