Troubleshooting & FAQ

Answers to common questions, and fixes for the usual problems.

“Claude Code not found”

Reigh looks for claude through your login shell’s PATH and a few common install folders. Open Settings → General → Command-line tools, check the path, or enter it by hand and press Re-detect. Make sure you’ve signed in once by running claude in a terminal.

Someone isn’t doing anything

  • Check their status on the Floor. Waiting on you means there’s something in your Inbox.
  • Blocked means every open task of theirs is blocked; open the task to see why.
  • Paused people get no new work until you resume them.
  • If you stopped their last run, Reigh won’t restart it on its own. Message them or move the task to bring them back.
  • The sidebar’s refresh button nudges everyone with pending work.

Two agents keep talking to each other

That’s what the hop limit is for. When a thread passes it, Reigh stops the thread and tells you. If it happens often, lower the limit in Settings → Workspace, or tighten the BOUNDARIES in your briefs.

A permission request expired

Permission prompts that were open when Reigh quit expire on the next launch. The agent sees that it expired and asks again if it still needs to.

The pull request didn’t open

Opening PRs uses the GitHub CLI. Run gh auth status in a terminal, and sign in with gh auth login if needed. By default agents also need your approval before opening a PR; check your Inbox.

My phone won’t connect

  • Make sure Settings → Mobile → Let your phone connect is on, and that Reigh is allowed to use the local network in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  • If your phone says your Mac’s identity changed, pair again.
  • If you’ve just updated Reigh on your Mac, quit and reopen it so the phone and Mac speak the same version.

FAQ

Is Reigh really free?

Yes. Reigh for Mac is free and open source. Your agents run on your own Claude Code account, which Anthropic bills directly. Only the iPhone companion, Reigh Mobile, is paid, because it depends on servers we run. See pricing.

Does my code leave my Mac?

Reigh doesn’t send your code anywhere. Your agents are Claude Code sessions, so what they read is sent to Anthropic’s API under your account, exactly as when you use Claude Code directly. Reigh’s database, memory and docs stay on your Mac.

Can I use other coding agents?

Not today. Reigh is built around Claude Code: its sessions, sub-agents, permission prompts and streaming output.

Can agents work while my Mac is asleep?

No. Agents run on your Mac, so it needs to be awake. Routines that were due while Reigh was closed can run once when it’s back.

Can I edit memory files by hand?

Yes. Edit MEMORY.md, PROJECT.md, DEPARTMENT.md or COMPANY.md in any editor and the changes sync back. Keep the [m:…] ids on existing lines.
